How we work
Quest4Change fights poverty and the destruction of the environment in Africa and South America
Registered UK charity, number 1117956
Our Vision:
Communities living without poverty in a clean and sustainable natural environment.
Our Mission:
We work with local partner organisations on small-scale grassroots projects that target the specific causes of poverty and environmental destruction. One of our main aims is to improve basic health and education infrastructure for the poorest people living in the communities we work with. We achieve this by providing fundraising and volunteer support to our projects.
Our Values:
Partnership: Everything we do is driven by a commitment to work with our host communities and project partners, and never to dictate to them. We concentrate on inclusive management and local involvement; providing training and support for local partners and seeking viable alternative livelihood schemes.
Sustainability: All of our projects are designed to run
on the basis of sustainable development to achieve long-lasting change
that is supported by, but not solely reliant on Quest4Change.
Honesty: We hold our staff, volunteers and project partners to the
highest standards of honesty and integrity, and always strive for
absolute accountability and maintain transparency in all matters.
Realistic Ambition: We endeavour to achieve the maximum benefit
for the communities with whom we work. We do this by concentrating on
projects with realistic development aims, taking into account the level
and type of support we are able to provide.

OUR HISTORY
Quest has been operating since 1996 in South America, starting with volunteer project work in Villa Maria, Peru on our children's shanty town project. We have been working in Africa since 2004. Throughout this time, we have striven to provide funding and volunteer support that enables communities to develop sustainably and provides protection of endangered wildlife and habitats.
Initially named the 'Quest Overseas Charitable Trust', Quest4Change became a UK registered charity (No. 1117956) on 14th February 2007. Since then, we have expanded our UK fundraising activities to provide support for our projects year-round, employing a permanent part-time fundraiser from 2009.
Governance matters
Quest4Change is a registered UK charity, number 1117956 - find us on the Charity Commission website. Quest4Change is also a Company Limited by Guarantee, registered in England & Wales. No: 05877731.
Quest4Change is managed by a board of trustees and all UK administrative costs are covered by key supporter Quest Overseas, who manage the volunteer teams, in addition to money raised through tax reclaimed through Gift Aid. This support means that every penny raised for the charity goes directly to sustainable development projects.

All children have a right to protection, and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable must be taken into account.
